Hikvision DS-2CD2385FWD-I (2.8mm) 8MP Ultra-Low Network Network Tower Camera with SD Card Slot, White

The Hikvision DS-2CD2385FWD-I 8MP Ultra-Low Network Tower Camera has garnered a generally favorable reception from customers, praised for its impressive image quality, particularly in both well-lit and low-light conditions. Users highlight its capability to capture clear details, such as license plates from Considerable distances, making it highly effective for monitoring front gardens and driveways. The camera's performance in bright scenes, where it maintains detail in the shadows without overexposing highlights, has also been commended. Installation seems straightforward for many, especially those familiar with security systems, as the camera integrates well with network video recorders (NVRs). Its versatile design allows for rotation and adjustment, providing flexibility in placement to achieve the desired field of view. However, some users have reported significant frustrations with Hikvision's security features, particularly regarding the locking mechanism that activates after failed login attempts. This has led to complications for users who may not have advanced networking skills, as unlocking the camera can involve a cumbersome procedure that may require external support from Hikvision, especially if the product wasn't purchased from an authorized vendor. The initial setup can also be confusing due to the default outward-facing network settings. On the aesthetic side, while some buyers wish for alternative color options such as dark grey, their requests for customization have gone unanswered. Additionally, the physical size of the camera has surprised some Consumers, who found it larger than anticipated, although this has not significantly impacted its performance. **
