Traveling Tour de France

**** The book "旅するツールドフランス" (Traveling Tour de France) has captured the interest of cycling enthusiasts and fans of the renowned Tour de France. Many readers appreciate the connection it creates to the iconic cycling race, evoking a nostalgic experience reminiscent of the beloved sports documentary "旅する自転車レース　ツールドフランス" narrated by Kubota Masaru. Readers find joy in the book's structure, allowing them to savor chapters each day in alignment with the stages of the 2024 Tour. The author provides an engaging narrative that intertwines the day’s race details with vibrant stories of the French towns and culture along the route. This depiction extends beyond the mere sport of cycling; it offers insights into the rich cultural tapestry that surrounds the race, enhancing the reader's understanding and appreciation of the event. For avid cyclists, the book not only serves as a tribute to the Tour de France's storied history but also as a source of inspiration to embark on their journeys. Some readers expressed that the inclusion of race rankings and charming travel photographs contributed to their enjoyment, making it appealing both to cyclists and general travelers alike. However, not all feedback has been positive. Some critics noted the writing style was not particularly inspiring or nuanced. The book lacks the depth found in other travelogues and fails to deliver unique insights from the cycling world that could engage even the most ardent of fans. Additionally, there were sentiments that, while the narrative is easy to read, it doesn't have enough memorable passages to compel a re-read after finishing. Overall, while "旅するツールドフランス" offers a pleasant escapade into the world of cycling and French culture, its reception reflects a divide between deeply passionate cycling fans and those seeking a more profound literary experience. It stands as an enjoyable read for those who relish both cycling and travel, yet may not fully satisfy critics looking for expert commentary and depth. **
