Yamaha RTX810 Giga-Access VPN Router

The Yamaha RTX Giga Access VPN Router has earned a substantial reputation among users who appreciate its robust performance and reliability, particularly in a home networking context. This device, though released over a decade ago, continues to impress customers with its functionality and stability, especially for users who require VPN capabilities. Users have noted that the RTX router is user-friendly for those familiar with the RT series. One standout feature is its Consistency—customers report it has never frozen or slowed down even after years of use, a common issue with other brands. Despite its age, the router’s performance remains competent for various tasks, particularly for VPN connections, as it supports IPoE via transix. However, users do acknowledge that it is not compatible with some of the more recent technologies like V6 Plus, which limits its appeal to potential buyers looking for cutting-edge functionality. The support from Yamaha is repeatedly praised, with many users highlighting how responsive and knowledgeable their customer service team is, setting it apart from competitors, which often provide generic or unhelpful responses. However, potential buyers should exercise caution when Considering used models. Some older features and certain network settings can be confusing, especially for those not well-versed in network configurations. Users have reported challenges with specific initialization sequences and command inputs necessary to unlock all features. Moreover, while the RTX series does well for basic tasks, more demanding users may find it lacking compared to newer models, particularly in terms of processing speed and data throughput. Overall, the Yamaha RTX Giga Access VPN Router presents an excellent value proposition for those needing reliable and effective networking capabilities, especially for VPN use. Its impressive customer support and Consistent performance make it a worthwhile Consideration for home users, despite its limitations regarding more modern networking standards. ### Pros and Cons **
