France Editorial Review
The product in question has received a mixed but predominantly positive reception from readers. Many have praised its insightful narrative, which artfully intertwines the personal account of the last American reporter to leave Saigon with broader themes such as the decline of war reporting and the fate of print journalism. This dual focus offers a profound reflection on how we navigate our information-saturated world, often overwhelmed yet under-informed. Readers have found the writing to be beautifully crafted, allowing for a compelling examination of the complexities surrounding the end of the Vietnam War. The author’s background as the daughter of a renowned correspondent adds depth to her reflections, making her perspective particularly poignant. The book is recognized for its ability to evoke strong emotions, presenting both a historical account and an exploration of cultural shifts in journalism. However, there are moments where some readers felt disappointed, possibly reflecting differing expectations about the narrative approach or thematic focus. Nevertheless, for many, it has been an "extraordinary" read that stands as both a significant historical record and a critical commentary on the state of media and wartime journalism. **
