Sodium Tripolyphosphate - STPP Powder - high puirty 99% - Made in USA - Weight: 2lb

Sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) is a food additive commonly used as a preservative and a texture modifier, particularly in processed foods like meats and seafood. Nutritionists have mixed opinions about its use. On one hand, STPP can enhance the moisture-retention in food products, contributing to a more appealing texture and extending shelf life. However, it has raised health concerns due to its high sodium content, which can be a drawback for individuals managing hypertension or those following low-sodium diets. In terms of ingredient quality, the 99% purity claim indicates a high level of refinement, although its natural presence in food is minimal. It is generally regarded as safe by regulatory authorities but should be used mindfully. Consumers should be aware of the potential health impacts and consider their dietary needs before including STPP-containing products in their diet.
