Lantronix xPrintServer Office Edition (XPS1002FC-01-S)

### Editorial Review of the Lantronix xPrintServer Office Edition The Lantronix xPrintServer Office Edition (XPS1002FC-01-S) aims to provide a solution for printing wirelessly from various devices, particularly targeting users with non-AirPrint printers. Overall, customer reception is mixed, highlighting its strengths in enabling iOS device printing as well as notable shortcomings, especially in terms of compatibility and reliability. Users appreciate the device's ability to make any printer AirPrint-compatible, which is a game-changer for those who want to print from iPhones or iPads without needing a dedicated Mac running Printopia. The installation process is widely regarded as straightforward, allowing for easy integration with existing networks and printers. Many reviews also laud its space-saving design, being able to mount neatly in server racks. However, issues surrounding printer compatibility quickly surface. While some users have had success with their Brother and Zebra printers, others face significant challenges with devices like the HP OfficeJet 7210, including printing errors and loss of functionality. The server is reported to randomly stop processing print jobs, requiring users to go through a cumbersome reset process. Additionally, problems occur when dealing with certain Wi-Fi network settings, which can disrupt the Apple AirPrint protocol. Despite these operational flaws, the xPrintServer does signal potential for a productive use case, particularly in environments where multiple users need to print seamlessly from mobile devices. Yet, the recurring issues and debates regarding its overall value, especially given the price point, lead to a cautious recommendation. ###
