PATIKIL Tools pta220517tt0176 Editorial Review
The PATIKIL Guitar Nut Slotting File Set has garnered mixed reviews from users, showcasing both its strengths and limitations. Many customers appreciate the tool's sharpness and effectiveness on bone nuts, allowing for quick and efficient lowering of the slots. The adjustability in size is noted, with users suggesting a trial-and-error approach to find the perfect fit, which seems to work well for standard string gauges like .009s. However, the files face criticism when it comes to compatibility with materials like Tusq XL. Some users report that the files lose their grit after a few uses, leading to the need for alternative smoothing methods, such as sandpaper. The process of filing a guitar nut can be time-Consuming, with one user mentioning a two-hour effort on a single electric guitar nut before ultimately deciding to discard the tool. Overall, the PATIKIL file set excels in applications with bone nuts but falls short in durability when tackling synthetic materials, leaving guitarists to weigh its effectiveness against its limitations. **
