What are Stompgrip Icon Universal Rally Tank Grips used for?

Stompgrip Icon Universal Rally Tank Grips are designed to enhance rider control and comfort while riding motorcycles. These grips provide additional friction, allowing riders to maintain a stable grip on the tank with their legs during acceleration, deceleration, and cornering. Enhanced grip reduces fatigue, improving overall riding experience, especially during long rides or aggressive maneuvers. These grips are ideal for touring, racing, or casual riding as they help to prevent slippage and improve body positioning.

How do I install Stompgrip tank grips?

Installing Stompgrip tank grips is straightforward. First, clean the motorcycle tank surface thoroughly using isopropyl alcohol to remove any dirt and oil. Once dry, peel off the backing of the grip and position it carefully on the tank. Press firmly to ensure all air bubbles are eliminated for maximum adhesion. Allow some time for the adhesive to set before actively using the bike. The easy peel-and-stick application makes it convenient for riders who want to enhance their bike without complicated installation processes.

Can Stompgrip Icon Universal Rally Tank Grips be removed easily?

Yes, Stompgrip tank grips can be removed with relative ease. If you decide to replace or reposition the grips, gently peel them away from the tank. Any residual adhesive can typically be cleaned with rubbing alcohol or adhesive remover. It's important to do this carefully to avoid damaging the paint or finish of the motorcycle. This feature allows riders to update their bike's aesthetics or adjust grip placements according to their preferences without major issues.

Are these tank grips suitable for all motorcycle models?

Stompgrip Icon Universal Rally Tank Grips are designed to fit a wide range of motorcycle models, making them versatile for various bikes. They are crafted to adapt to different tank shapes and sizes, ensuring that most riders can find a suitable use. However, it’s always advisable to check compatibility with specific models. The universal design also means that even if you change bikes in the future, you can likely transfer the grips to your new ride, offering excellent value.

What material are Stompgrip tank grips made from?

Stompgrip tank grips are primarily made from a high-quality rubber material that offers excellent durability and grip. This material is not only designed to withstand diverse weather conditions but also provides a soft yet firm feel that enhances comfort while riding. The textured surface design maximizes grip, helping riders maintain better control during their rides. Additionally, the material is resistant to wear and tear, making these grips a long-lasting addition to your motorcycle gear.

Do Stompgrip tank grips come in different colors?

The Stompgrip Icon Universal Rally Tank Grips are available in a clear option. The clear design allows the bike's original color and artwork to show through, maintaining an aesthetic appeal while providing functionality. This choice suits riders who want to keep the original look of their motorcycle intact while benefiting from enhanced grip. Additionally, the clear option allows for compatibility with various customizations since it will not clash with different painting or decals on the motorcycle.

Will tank grips affect the paint on my motorcycle?

When properly installed, Stompgrip tank grips should not damage the paint on your motorcycle. They are designed with a special adhesive that allows for secure attachment without harming the tank finish. However, to protect your paint, it’s crucial to clean the tank surface before application and ensure the adhesion is solid. Should you ever decide to remove the grips, careful peeling can prevent any potential issues, preserving the motorcycle's aesthetics and the paintwork underneath.

How do Stompgrip tank grips improve riding performance?

Stompgrip tank grips improve riding performance by providing enhanced grip and stability for the rider. By allowing riders to hold on to the motorcycle with their legs rather than relying solely on their arms, it decreases upper-body fatigue and enables better body positioning in corners. This added control can significantly improve handling, especially for performance riders or those tackling challenging terrains. It’s particularly beneficial during high-speed maneuvers or sudden stops, as it ensures the rider remains securely attached to the bike.

Can I customize the fit of the Stompgrip tank grips?

Yes, you can customize the fit of Stompgrip tank grips if required. While they are designed as a universal fit, if your motorcycle tank has specific curves or contours that require adjustments, the grip can be trimmed to shape. Use a sharp pair of scissors or a utility knife to cut them carefully, ensuring that you maintain a clean edge for proper adhesion. This way, riders can achieve a better fit tailored to their bike's unique design while still enjoying the benefits of the grips.
