XXSR Transfer Case Components Editorial Review
This Power Take Off Transfer Case Differential Unit Replacement seems to have received mixed reviews from customers. One mechanic who has been in the profession for 15+ years and is meticulous about his work recommends spending double the money and getting a quality part from the first dealer, as he had to replace the part a second time with a genuine Ford part. Another customer had no issues with the part and was able to replace it in their garage without dropping the engine cradle. A Ford Edge owner noted that Ford did not do a good job with the design of this unit and recommends changing the gear oil every 20-30k to avoid PTU issues again. From the reviews, it's clear that this PTU replacement unit can be a hit or miss depending on individual experiences.
