iShoot Tripod Mount Rings Editorial Review
The iShoot Metal Lens Collar Tripod Mount Ring emerges as a functional accessory aimed at enhancing the experience of using the Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 lens with a tripod. Many users have lauded its ability to stabilize the lens and relieve strain on the lens mount, particularly valuable for photographers utilizing heavier configurations on tripods. Specific praise has been focused on the collar's design, noted for securely fitting the lens and including a ridge that prevents misalignment, which is crucial during transitions between landscape and portrait orientations. That said, the product has garnered mixed sentiments due to some design flaws. Users appreciate the thumb knob for tightening; however, it has been critiqued for its size, which can impede access to the zoom ring. Additionally, while the collar generally fits well, concerns have been raised regarding the inner surface, which, despite being coated with fabric, can still scratch the lens barrel. Several users wished for a more refined fit that would allow for better finger space around the camera grip, particularly those using battery grips or large camera setups. Overall, the iShoot Metal Lens Collar seems to be a solid choice for tripod stabilization, provided users are aware of its potential shortcomings. It is a testament to the necessity of balancing practicality with comfort when using heavy lenses in the field, but it may leave some seeking alternatives. **
