Thirteen Chefs Knife Sharpeners TC-KNIFEOIL Editorial Review
The Thirteen Chefs Knife and Honing Oil is a food-safe oil designed to protect carbon steel knives and prepare them for sharpening. Made with USP grade mineral oil and Vitamin E, this oil is suitable for use on various types of knives, including those with Damascus blades. It is also suggested that the oil can be used for other purposes, such as seasoning a carbon steel baking sheet or applying on a black Arkansas stone. The overall reception of the product from customer reviews is relatively positive. Some users are satisfied with the performance of the oil, stating that it effectively protects their knives and leaves them free from rust. Others appreciate the reasonable price for the amount of oil provided. Users have also commented on the oil's thickness, lack of odor, and food-grade quality. However, there are a few criticisms worth noting. One user mentioned that they found the container of the oil to be poorly sealed, resulting in leakage when tipped over. Another user felt that the oil was not suitable as a honing oil, despite the product's description. In conclusion, the Thirteen Chefs Knife and Honing Oil seems to be a decent choice for those looking to protect their carbon steel knives. While there are some minor drawbacks, such as potential packaging issues and differing opinions on its use as a honing oil, the overall positive customer feedback suggests that it is a reliable and effective product.
