What is the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser used for?

The Ring Alarm Magnet Riser is designed to enhance the functionality of your Ring security system. It acts as a mount for the sensor magnet, allowing it to be placed in optimal positions on doorways, windows, or entryways. By ensuring the sensor magnet aligns perfectly when a door or window is closed, it enhances your security setup. This is particularly useful in homes where the existing mounting options are limited or where you want to ensure a cleaner installation.

How do I install the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser?

Installation of the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser is straightforward, thanks to the included 3M adhesive. Just clean the surface where you intend to mount the riser, peel off the adhesive backing, and firmly press it into place. Once it’s set, attach your Ring sensor magnet to the riser. This is especially beneficial for renters or those looking for a non-invasive security solution.

Will the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser work with all Ring sensors?

The Ring Alarm Magnet Riser is primarily designed for compatibility with Ring's sensor magnets, although you should verify the size and design of your specific sensor model. This ensures that the riser properly supports the sensor while maintaining functionality. This is particularly useful for households with various sensor models, as it allows for a unified and organized security setup.

Is the adhesive on the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser strong enough?

Yes, the 3M adhesive used on the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser is designed to provide a strong and lasting bond. It can adhere to various surfaces, including wood, metal, and plastic, making it versatile for different installation locations. However, ensure the surface is clean for optimal adhesion. This is ideal for both permanent and temporary setups, catering to diverse home security needs.

Can I use the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser outdoors?

The Ring Alarm Magnet Riser is best suited for indoor use, primarily because outdoor conditions could affect the adhesive and the integrity of the installation. However, if used in shielded areas that protect from direct sunlight and moisture, it may work. For more effective outdoor applications, consider weather-resistant options, particularly if the installation is exposed to the elements.

How many risers are included in a pack?

Each pack of the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser includes two units. This permits installation at multiple locations or the option for a backup if needed. By using two risers, you can facilitate a more robust and comprehensive security solution across different entry points, enhancing the overall safety of your home.

What if the adhesive doesn’t stick properly?

If the adhesive doesn’t stick properly, ensure that the surface is completely clean and dry, removing any dust or grease that could interfere. If you continue experiencing issues, consider using an alternative adhesive approach while keeping in mind the operational effectiveness of the sensor. Proper installation is crucial for ensuring your security devices function optimally.

Can I reposition the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser after installation?

Repositioning the Ring Alarm Magnet Riser can be challenging due to the effectiveness of the 3M adhesive. If you attempt to move it after the initial installation, it may lose its sticking power or damage the surface underneath. It’s advisable to plan your mounting locations carefully before installation to minimize the need for repositioning, ensuring a solid and effective security system.

What materials are the Ring Alarm Magnet Risers made from?

The Ring Alarm Magnet Risers are made from durable plastic that is designed to withstand typical use conditions. This robust construction helps maintain their integrity over time, making them suitable for enhancing your home security. The combination of durability and lightweight design makes installation and maintenance significantly easier.
